NEW SCHEDULED
CLASSES
CERT is a course that
provides citizens with basic survival & rescue training to
improve their chances of survival in the event of a disaster
prior to the arrival of an emergency response agency.
Midway Fire District CERT is
open to all residents and businesses of the district. Team
members will be provided with advanced training each year and
may be called upon for various activities of the District
including public relations events, assistance at an emergency
incident if called for by Incident Command, or is activated during
a disaster.
Midway Fire District CERT
will be holding a FREE basic CERT
class on the following dates:
Friday May 16 5p-9p
Saturday May 17 8a-4p
Friday May 30
5p-9p
Saturday May 31
8p-4p
Rain Day- June 1
1P-5P
Course participants MUST
ATTEND ALL CLASSES and the disaster drill exercise in order to
obtain certification.
All members of the community
are invited to attend.

NOTICE TO
EXISTING MIDWAY FIRE DISTRICT CERT MEMBER
There will be
a training exercise for current CERT members on Saturday May
31 from 1:00 pm to
5:00 pm. This training is in conjunction with the class that
will be doing the basic training drill exercise. All members are encouraged
attend! Be sure to bring your kits and be
prepared.
Florida State Emergency Management will be conducting a disaster drill
exercise on Monday June 2. Midway Fire District will
be participating in this exercise and encourages all CERT
members to attend. Please be at Station 35 on College
Pkwy. by 9:00 a.m.
The exercise will begin at 09:30 a.m. and last until 2:00 pm.
Please
invite any family and/or friends that may be interested in
joining Midway Fire District CERT to to take the class in
May and attend the State Disaster Drill in June.
